A variation of the fan-favorite Pat's Rubberleg, the TJ Hooker is tied on a jig hook with a big tungsten bead for getting down fast. Perhaps the biggest change is the addition of a barred marabou tail that undulates in the water like the tail of a big stonefly squirming along through the water column. Fish it as a tandem nymph rig with an indicator, euro-style, or beneath a big stonefly dry -- A great dropper fly during the salmonfly or golden stone hatch.
