FULL DESCRIPTION
The All-New MMT Utility Irons were designed specifically with the next generation of utility irons in mind. Incorporating our patent pending Metal Mesh Technology -individually braided strands of 304 Stainless Steel integrated into to a shafts prepreg layers- allows us to construct shafts with thinner walls. Thinner walls improve feel and responsiveness, and the combined strength of steel and carbon provide more consistent launch and spin. This means more control and confidence with every shot.
Who its best for? For players looking to optimize the performance of their driving iron or utility with an innovative, taper tip design that has been engineered to provide increased versatility in playability.
Metal Mesh Technology (MMT) integrates a unique metal mesh made from individually braided strands of 304 Stainless Steel, into the shafts prepreg layers. It improves density and stability, while also allowing for thinner overall composite wall construction. Together this yields a finely tuned, highly responsive shaft that still provides the consistent launch and spin control needed for effective iron play.
The Mitsubishi MMT Utility Iron Shaft is a mid-low launch, mid-low spin tapered tip shaft built specifically for driving iron and utility iron builds. It uses Mitsubishi's patent-pending Metal Mesh Technology individually braided strands of 304 stainless steel integrated directly into the composite prepreg layers near the tip which allows for a thinner shaft wall without sacrificing stability. The result is a shaft that delivers steel-like feedback and torsional control with the lighter weight and vibration dampening of graphite. Available in the 105 Series S-flex with a 0.355" tapered tip, it suits players with swing speeds of 90 mph and above who want precision and feel from their utility iron without the weight of a steel shaft.
Compared to the MMT Taper Iron Shaft (designed for full iron sets), the MMT Utility is engineered specifically for the longer, more demanding load of a driving iron or 2-iron build with a stiffer profile through the tip section that handles the higher ball speeds generated from utility iron distances. Compared to playing a standard graphite iron shaft in a driving iron, the MMT's Metal Mesh Technology produces significantly more feel feedback and torsional stability at impact a common reason steel players make the switch without losing the precision they expect from their long irons. Players who want a parallel tip version for cavity-back irons should look at the MMT Parallel Iron Shaft (0.370" tip) instead.
